In a lot of pressing exercises we're forced to unstack our wrists and elbows. When we want to isolate the triceps, we have to keep the elbow static in space and move the wrist/hand around it. Exercises like JM Presses and Skull Crushers are notoriously hard on the wrists.
That said, you could be getting the same pain in the bench press just because you're holding the bar too high in the hand.
A quick trick to mitigate the pain that you're feeling in your wrist from these sorts of pressing movements is to switch your grip from a conventional grip to something I learned to call the diamond grip.
The grip shifts the burden of the bar down your hand towards your wrist, elminating the leverage it has to bend your wrist backwards. This can be huge in eliminating any pain you might experience from these exercises.
Give it a try and report back! I'm excited to hear how it works for everyone.
