The Triad Yoga Institute was established in 1999 by co-owners Terry Brown and Jerry Cunningham. We have come a long way since our first studio opened on South Elm Street in downtown Greensboro, moving and expanding our studio space to our present location on West Market Street in January, 2011. Join us tonight for our Yoga Studies class at 5:30pm. We are working on Releasing the Piriformis Muscle!

Lying deep to the Gluteal muscles, the piriformis muscles can become tight and compress the sciatic nerve. A tight piriformis is known as piriformis syndrome, which can lead to pain and tingling sensations in the buttock and leg, known as sciatica. This entire class will teach us how to release and re-educate this troublesome muscle. — All Levels.

Using a chair to facilitate the twist, our students practice Marichyasana III (Marichi’s Pose III). This beneficial pose improves spinal health, aids in digestion and can help stimulate the lower chakras.

Join us on February 26, Wednesday at 5:30pm for Yoga Studies. We are working on practices for the Inner Thighs and Releasing the Tension of the Inner Groins.

Practicing poses like Parsva Supta Padangusthasana (Reclining Inner Thigh Stretch) and Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) not only helps to release the inner thighs but also increases circulation to the sacrum and aids in releasing lower back pressure. Deep breathing can be restricted by the tension in the inner groin region and inner thighs. Opening this area will help improve the ability to sit on the floor with greater ease. This class will present a multitude of practices for just the inner thighs! —All Levels.

Our students practice Anantasana (Sleeping Vishnu Pose) using the wall for support. This pose gives a good stretch to the inner groins and hamstring muscles and strengthens the core muscles. Wobbling around in the pose is all part of the fun!

From Austin ~ Throughout my 90-minute sessions, I utilize 14 different instruments – mostly from ancient cultures (or 25 instruments altogether) – to guide people into deep meditational spaces. The instruments that seemingly pause time during my sound healing concerts include crystal singing bowls, gongs, didgeridoos, handpan, guzheng (chinese harp), native flutes, drums, vocals, rattles, rainstick, ocean drum, harmonium, and more!
