Classical Ballet is conveniently located in the “Fine Arts District” of Mobile, Alabama, within walking distance from Spring Hill College, Mobile Museum of Art, Playhouse in the Park and Mobile Botanical Gardens. We are an Academy for Pre-Ballet through Advanced dancers, offering professional instruction in Classical Ballet and Broadway-style Theatre Jazz. Led by the former Artistic and School Directors of Mobile Ballet, Inc., Winthrop Corey and Pamela Thompson, we believe in limiting class sizes to provide individualized, hands-on instruction to our dancers. The results are highly-trained dancers with exceptional ballet technique and artistry.
Our beautiful, light and airy studios are equipped with state-of-the-art sprung floors to ensure our dancers are always safe during class. We understand the importance of school and other activities and interests, so we always welcome new students no matter the time of the year. We care about helping to develop well-rounded individuals, so we make every effort to work with the schedules of our dancers throughout the season, and no contracts are required.
Since the school opened two years ago, our dancers have been accepted into the most competitive ballet intensives in the nation, such as School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Carolina Ballet, American Ballet Theater and Joffrey Ballet. Classical Ballet also has a former Broadway celebrity, Brandy Brown Pendleton, as the instructor of Musical Theatre Jazz and Strength & Conditioning.
