Here’s the start of my mini prairie!
03/10/2025
Some if you have asked about the greenhouse. This was my birthday present to myself (66 years in January).
It’s a beautiful space.
Outside, I’ve got about 40 containers winter sowing, with many seeds germinating in the last couple of weeks.
Most of these are native wildflowers, that I hope will establish a mini prairie for Tom’s bees. Others are early *edible* and *medicinal* flowers, such as caledula, breadseed poppies and borage, as well as cool season cut flowers such as Sweet William and ornamental poppies.
Soon, I’ll be sowing more cut flowers, herbs, and a variety of tomatoes, peppers and pickling cucumber.
When you’re at the barn and see me, chat me up, but only if you’ve got time because I’ll go on and on…!
