tundra swan, cotton, lace, (SOLD)
I made the garland, "i'm glad you're here" as a message to whomever needs it. A woman asked if it was for a baby's room, as in, we are so glad you have been born. I never thought about it this way! How wonderful to have a different interpretation!
As my thoughts are beginning to untangle and I'm having more time to think, I am starting to see something new emerging and am thinking through each aspect in anticipation of cutting out patterns and fabric. Like just about everything I create, it will be for children. But as I tell my customers, we are all children at heart.
"good news" angel, mixed media, old quilt, yarn, linen, wired ribbon, button, paper, $15
snowman pillow, old quilt, cotton, wool, buttons, $40 (SOLD 3 of 5)
Hey Friends--I'm back to work making bed bunnies and planning what happens next. I'm working on angels and I have some new garland ideas. Best of all, I will be returning to the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market this Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. with coffee in hand and that far away look in my eye. (It is early and I have creativity going on!) Come see me! It has been awhile and I've missed you all!
I will be among the artists at this show. It is going to be a wonderful!

Meet Your Vendor: Dream With M.E.
While many Market shoppers know to look for the bed bunnies on Aisle E, Table 115, we wonder how many know the redhead behind the bunnies. Rather than trying to tell her story, here’s Mary Ellen Shores in her own words.
“I'm the farm girl from the little town up North that most people have never heard of who graduated from MSU and then got in a car heading West to find fame and fortune with a backpack and $25. Went to graduate school at Marshall, considered life in the East and many other possibilities and ended up back in Denver. Got married, had a baby and then headed South.”
Not only can Mary Ellen bring joy through her bunnies, garlands, Christmas ornaments, and smiles; she can write. You can find her blog posts at melbashores.blogspot.com. Her journalism training shines through her posts as her years as preschool teacher shine through her gentle conversation.
Ask her about the inspiration for the bed bunny concept. Bet you’ll like that story and others about her boys, her travels, and whatever she has on her mind.
Mary Ellen is always at the spring and fall Made 4 Market craft shows. We’re glad she’s been a Market presence since 2006.
My art business, dream with m.e., emerged from a short story I wrote about a woman telling the Christmas story with her needle and thread. My words can take you on adventures while my thread, cloth, buttons and wire translate stories in a form that transcends words. My art is inspired from a simple concept: life can be hard; what I create with my garlands, ornaments, pillows and bed bunnies is a soft place to land. What I offer is designed and handmade by me to bring joy to your heart and beauty to your home.
Dream with me.
Together we can celebrate life.
