Southeast Tiger Shark Swim Team Sponsor Letter - 2025.pdf

2024 was my 15th summer working at SESC and my 27th as a member that included serving on the pool Board and swim team board. My children ages 31,29,24 literally grew up at the pool.
I love our pool, the friendships she forms and the strong community our pool has formed. I’ve watched little ones learn to swim and become guards at our pool. We’ve mourned at the passings of beloved members and rejoiced at the birth of our newest. My oldest gifted me this perfect gift that sums up the last 27 years of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. To our OG members, thank you and to our newest & returning members, welcome, we are so glad you are part of our family. I will definitely see you at the pool🧡🖤

Some of our guard staff got together for a little holiday cheer.
Was so great to see them.
In 5 months we will all be back at the pool!
Merry Christmas SESC

Up here on this beautiful Friday doing a little off season work and am blown away how well this Lantana did this year. I may have over done it but hey, the stump there is hidden 😂
Enjoy the last Friday of October!

It has been an incredible 2 days of our last weekend of summer ‘24. Even with the storms rolling in this afternoon a great day seemed to be had by all. As I was looking around and watching people it just made my heart so happy to see so many smiles and hearing a lot of laughter. I’ve enjoyed getting to know so many of you a little more and watching your children grow.
Watching so many littles that have conquered their fears of diving boards and getting their faces wet is simply the best. Swim team 25 needs to be on everyone’s list!
We will open at 10am tomorrow to say good bye to summer 2024.
We will see you at the pool.

If you are one of the 1376 without power the pool does have power. We have no internet but we have power and showers are great!
08/30/2024
Well, we tried to open tonight but these storms aren’t going away.
On the plus side the temps have dropped. We will see you all tomorrow. We will open at 11am.
Stay safe

Not pool related but hoping to find a home. These puppies are being fostered by my oldest daughter (pictured with those sweet puppies).
They are going to be ready for adoption soon and we are really hoping they are adopted by someone we know.🤗
They are with a rescue in Raleigh.
If anyone is interested or may know someone please reach out to me and I’ll get you in touch with the rescue.

Happy FDOS for all of my kids from the pool. Sending big hugs to our teachers you all are so valuable. Dana and CJ part of our box crew, your students are incredibly lucky to be in your classes. To my kindergarten parents, it’s going to be ok and to my senior parents, it will be, but it’s a fast roller coaster year. Just embrace it and hang on.
To my young hard working staff; I keep saying it but it’s so true, you all have made the pool this year. You have just been incredible and I love you all a ton. Have a great week and I’ll see you this weekend for one last hurrah of summer 24.
To all of our families, thank you for your continued support of SESC. We love having just a small part of helping to mold our future into kind, helpful, productive & strong swimming humans
See you all Friday at 5pm!

We welcome all who can help.
On the recommendation of a member, we have put out a tip box to collect tips of love for our guards. These kids have worked so hard this summer and have helped to make this pool the fun place it is. They sit and talk with your children, they play with them when not guarding and keep them safe while guarding. Bonds have been formed that will provide great memories in the years to come.
Please show them how much you appreciate them.
Concessions also has a tip bucket that we are collecting for them too.❤️🥰

Today was our very own real life Ken’s last day. Our Dylan is heading to UNC-Wilmington this weekend to begin his Freshman year. Dylan has been with us for 4 years and his brothers were guards before him. Needless to say we love the Roys boys (and their parents!)
Have a great year Dylan, we appreciate all you have done for us at SESC.

And then there were 2. We have 2 Wednesdays, Thursdays & Mondays left of summer.
3 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays.
As we slowly bring our fabulous summer to a close I wanted to give you a heads up with back to school pool operating hours.
Sunday August 25: 12pm-7pm
We will close 1 hour early so our guards can get home and get themselves ready for school. (Several are already in school)
We will be closed Mon-Thurs 8/26-29 as everyone adjusts to a new school year schedule and our guards are in school. Something about state laws I need to adhere.🙄
Our last weekend of the season hours:
Friday Aug. 30: 5-8pm
Saturday Aug 31: 11-8
Sunday Sept 1 : 12pm-8pm
Monday Sept 2 : 10am-8pm
**** don’t forget our last Trivia will be on Saturday August 24 6-9pm. Come early and get your thinking cap adjusted. We will start at 6pm.
We have the best Trivia hosts with Andrew Long and Kyle Goodman (even if they stump me ALOT!)
See you all ar the pool

Finding a few of these creatures lately. Now we have an official name
You may notice the cicada killer wasps are out in full force, along with the dog day or summer cicadas. They aren't new and are common every summer. The eastern cicada killer may be the scariest-looking wasp in our state. But it is not aggressive to people and is virtually harmless unless handled roughly. They hunt and kill cicadas and lay their eggs in their bodies. They are solitary, too; they don't swarm or have large nests, just holes in the ground around the yard. People will often see these and think they are some new dangerous hornet or wasp, but they are just our annual late summer wasps that return each year.
