It’s Day 3 of the Little Black Dress Initiative! I’ll be wearing the same black dress every day this week to bring attention to the issue of the need for diapers in our community. It’s a small illustration of a very big issue, but Junior League of Columbus believes in the power of our community to make a difference when we come together.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Columbus, GA and the Junior League of Columbus, GA have teamed up to combat the diaper disparity here in Columbus, GA.

This week we wear the same little black dress for 5 consecutive days to bring awareness to those in poverty and collect diaper donations for those in need who can’t afford diapers.

The goal is to draw attention to the ways in which poverty affects women and children in our community, collecting diaper donations and raising money in support of the Columbus Junior League’s efforts to address this important issue.

Many babies in this community sit in their diapers for way too long because their families can’t afford to purchase them.

We partner with 13 local nonprofits to help disperse these.
