Learn more about the community driven organization behind The Rescue Run: 🏔️⛑️

The Rescue Run 5k & 10k is one of Colorado Springs longest running races - starting with its first running in the fall of 1979.

All proceeds from this event benefit El Paso County Search and Rescue (EPCSAR). EPCSAR is a mountain search and rescue team dedicated to saving lives through search, rescue, and mountain safety education.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the team depends upon contributions from individuals, groups, firms, and agencies interested in supporting its work.

EPCSAR does not receive regular funding from local, state, or federal governments, and is staffed 100% by non-paid professionals that respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. There is never a charge for services.

The entirety of the proceeds from the race help to fuel their dedication to saving lives.

About Us

Owner Jeff Tarbert along side store manager John O’Neill first opened the doors of The Colorado Running Company in June of 2000 and haven’t looked back. Together they have built the store on a strong foundation of great customer service, sponsorship, support from the local running community and on the best selection of running and walking shoes available.

You’ve probably seen us out and about somewhere! We love giving back to the community that keeps us going. Look for us the next time you’re at one of the local races, on base, at high school and college cross country and track meets…. We’re always helping and supporting our community.

We have a few runs a week if you need some social motivation, but we’re not alone, if you need more, you can visit the Pikes Peak Road Runners site for a complete list: click here for CRC Events and our store runs.

Don’t need or want those nasty old running or walking shoes? We’ll be glad to take them and recycle them for you. We work together with Colorado College to give those in need some new soles. Contact us for more information.
