In 2017, Paul Gerrard showed up with one of the more wild looking purpose-built machines sure to turn heads, the Enviate Hypercar built by Cody Loveland Racing.

He’d return for the 100th Running in 2022 with even more aero and improvements applied in hope for a King of the Mountain effort, but Pikes Peak had other ideas, drowning the entire course in heavy fog.

For 2025, he’s taking on a new adventure with SG Motorsports in an Aston Martin Vantage GT. Can you guess what number he’ll be rocking? 🤔😎

A mutual affinity for Volkswagen brought driver, Jack Penley, and car owner/builder/ultimate hype man, Sterling Motorsports together for their plan of attack on the mountain in 2024. 🤝

While race day turned out to be sunny without a cloud in the sky, that also meant temps were running hot for everyone.

In the middle of his run, Penley was forced to return to the start line after a red flag had been issued for another competitor. With temps still not coming down, the team ultimately had to make a tough decision.

Dialed in and performing strong during practice and qualifying, Shawn Bassett was ready for a solid run on race day.

Coming out of Glen Cove (about halfway through the course), Bassett’s 240z warned him of a low oil pressure reading. With each hairpin, the warning would flash again, and Bassett dismissed it until he had no choice. 😰

Instead of wishing for a different result all day after a major mechanical caused Loni Unser to pull off, she took the opportunity to chat with race fans at Devils Playground and spark inspiration for the next generation as kids lined up to climb in the driver’s seat of her Turbo Cup Porsche. ❤️

Unser will be back for 2025, ready to inspire many more as she makes her way to 14,115 feet.

Pikes Peak features some significant bumps and heaves in the road, forcing competitors to take nontraditional lines for a successful run.

In 2022, Dan Aweida experienced a major “bump in the road” when his home, shop and race cars lit up in flames during the Marshall Fire in Boulder, Colorado.

Instead of calling it quits, Aweida decided to continue his racing line and is looking forward to navigating the during year 10 at Pikes Peak this summer.

Love at 14,115 feet. ❤️

Kendall Samuel and Mary Barker set out on Race Day to not only cross the finish line, but also cross a major milestone. 💍

While 6.23.24 was a joyous and beautiful day for the Samuel’s, they had their fair share of hills to climb over to get there.
