USA Badminton is thrilled to announce that the 2025 YONEX U.S. Open Badminton Championships will take place June 24-29, 2025, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the host of the 2023 edition.

The Mid-America Center will once again serve as the championship venue, providing top-tier facilities just ten minutes from Omaha’s airport. USA Badminton is proud to collaborate with the Omaha Sports Commission (OSC) and the Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau (Council Bluffs CVB) to bring this premier event to the region.

USA Badminton is excited to announce the dates and location for the 2025 YONEX USA BADMINTON JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

The 2025 YONEX USA BADMINTON JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS will take place at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in Saint Paul, Minnesota, from July 1 – July 7, 2025.

This prestigious tournament will feature competition for athletes in the U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19 age groups. USA Badminton is pleased to open the event to both U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States (excluding those on short-term visas, such as B visas).

Official Hotel:
The InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront is the official hotel, only three blocks away from the Saint Paul RiverCentre, and is located right next to the Mississippi River. Guests can use the Skyway to access the venue in case of poor weather. The hotel is easily accessible via the Light Rail from the airport (three-block walk from the Light Rail station to the hotel). The USA Badminton group rate is $129 per night plus taxes and fees.

Transportation:
The Light Rail conveniently connects the airport, official hotel, and downtown area to other major attractions in the Minneapolis-St Paul area. We recommend utilizing public transportation/train or taxi/Uber/Lyft to and from the hotel and airport rather than renting a car. Parking in the St. Paul area can be quite limited and expensive, making it a challenge for those looking for convenient spots. Visitors with cars should be prepared to pay for parking for both the hotel and venue with no in-and-out access.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that players and their families walk and take public transportation to and from the official hotel and venue (five minute walk, three-blocks).

Before You Go:
The surrounding area offers a plethora of restaurants and places to explore. The Science Museum of Minnesota offers interactive exhibits for all ages, and is located directly across from the venue. For a taste of local culture, head to the Landmark Center, a historic building turned cultural venue, or stroll through the picturesque Rice Park. The world-famous Mall of America is a premier shopping and amusement park destination for family fun.

The 2025 Junior Selection Event will be held in San Jose, California over four days from April 18 – 21, 2025 at Can-Am Elite Badminton & Sports. The Selection Event will be main draw with feed-in consolation or pool play based on the number of entries.

Each entrant will be required to play in a minimum of two USAB or BWF tournaments (junior or adult) in the 2024-2025 season (beginning after the 2024 Junior National Championships) prior to the Selection Event.

USA Badminton (“USAB”) is pleased to announce an election to select one eligible Elite Ten Year Athlete or Elite Ten Year+ Athlete to serve on the USAB Board of Directors, as well as on the Athletes’ Representative Council (ARC) for USAB. The elected Elite Ten Year Athlete or Elite Ten Year + Athlete will serve the remainder of the 2024-2027 term in the vacant position.

Eligible Elite Athletes are encouraged to submit a request to be placed on the ballot for the Elite Athlete election starting immediately. The deadline to submit a request to be placed on the ballot for the Elite Athlete election is March 8, 2025 at 11:59 PM (One Minute Before Midnight) US Pacific Time. Interested candidates should send an email notification of their intent to run and a request to be vetted for inclusion on the ballot to [email protected].
