And just like that, the WAM Fall Regional Meeting Tour comes to an end! Thanks to Region 5 for joining us at the majestic Evanston Roundhouse, and to Senator Wendy Schuler for coming out to talk us through regulatory reduction, limits of governmental liability, and a myriad of other legislative topics WAM is tracking.
We also took the opportunity this week to pop in and visit our friends at the Wyoming Association of County Officials Conference in Rock Springs. It was great catching up with old friends like Karen Rimmer and countless others.
Next up, mark your calendars for January 22-24 at Little America in Cheyenne for 2025 WAM Winter Conference!

It was great to see you and to catch up with Representative Bob Davis who offered great insight into the work of the Regulatory Reduction Task Force, as well as his perspective on the state of the ever-growing gaming industry in Wyoming.
Region 5 you're last but not least on our list, and we'll see you next Wednesday evening in Evanston!

Dear WAM Members and Stakeholders,

I am thrilled to announce on behalf of the Wyoming Association of Municipalities Board of Directors, that Ashley Harpstreith has accepted the Executive Director position with WAM. I have personally worked with Ashley at the Capitol and am very excited about the future direction of WAM with her at the helm. Ashley is highly connected statewide and has valuable relationships with SLIB, legislators, agencies and stakeholders.

Ashley comes to us from Wyoming Taxpayers Association where she advocated for sound tax policy for a healthy Wyoming economy. Most recently, she published The Cowboy Family which aims to provide transparency regarding what individual benefits the Wyoming tax structure provides. Prior to joining WTA, Harpstreith was the CEO of Goshen County Economic Development Corporation (GCEDC) where she managed a county-wide economic development effort which included the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce, Goshen County Tourism Promotions, Visitor’s Center, and Main Street programming. At the time, Goshen County was the only county utilizing an economic development sales tax which Ashley passed for the 5th time in 2018 by 72% margin.

Ashley has additional experience in business and workforce development and holds her B.S in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Wyoming. Currently, she serves on several boards including the Wyoming Capitol Club, Wyoming Society for Association Executives and University of Wyoming College of Business Advisory Board. She is a recent 2024 graduate of Leadership Wyoming.

Ashley resides in Cheyenne with her husband, Grant and two children, Price and Adelyn. When not traveling for high school sports, they all enjoy snowmobiling, ATVing, golfing, fishing, and all things “ing” Wyoming has to offer.

Please help us welcome Ashley as she will join the WAM team on Tuesday, September 3. She will hit the ground running as she will be attending all the WAM Region meetings plus advocating at the legislative interim meetings on behalf of WAM membership. Please make sure to rsvp to your Region Meeting with WAM Member Services Manager, Justin Schilling, via [email protected] so you can meet her in person!
Sincerely,

Matt Hall, Mayor of Cody
WAM Board of Directors, President
