Who would ever thunk it...
Here's something that just blows me away... Did you know that only 30% of Dr's will tell their senior patients of the benefits of exercise, you need to be proactive and ask questions... I can not think of any circumstance where a Dr would say... DO NOT EXERCISE!!!
Dr what can I do??? Follow me at Joe's Fitness & Nutrition.
Hello there.
Well, I just wanted to say hey and let you know that even though I am not able at this time to run a gym, (I will be back), that I am still keeping up on my continuing education so when the time comes where I start JF&N back I will be up on the most recent techniques in the word of fitness. Anyway I have received some awards from my studies I wanted to share.
Knowledge in Functional Fitness
Knowledge of Chronic Conditions
A Commitment Award for Exercise Therapy, 99% in course
Aging Myths Expert
These are important to me because I started this journey to work with people my age and help them live healthier.
Did you know regular exercise can help many health issues you may have such as,
Reduce the risk of heart attack, manage weight, lower cholesterol, lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and some cancers, lower blood pressure, have stronger bones, muscles, and joints, and lower the risk of developing osteoporosis, just to mention a few benefits.
I will try and do better at keeping up on posting good tid-bits on health and exercise, I am taking a course now on Senior Fitness and will keep you updated.
Tell your friends to follow me at
Joe's Fitness & Nutrition,
Feel your best, Look your best, Be your best
Good morning just want to wish you all a great day, now let's get started!!!
Hello, not sure what's going on with this page not sure if my posts have been showing. If you could give my a message back and let me know if you can view my last couple of posts.
Thanks
Creatine:
Creatine phosphate (CP) is a high-energy phosphate stored in your cells that helps to immediately resynthesize ATP, (adenosine triphosphate), this is what is responsible for that first burst of energy you get, the explosiveness a sprinter needs at the starting line, if you train using polymetrics, are even CrossFit, where you need that explosiveness energy. However, this will only last for about the first 10 seconds, so the ATP will lose a phosphate - bond and leaves us with ADP, (adenosine diphosphate). I don’t want to get to far into energy transfer, but here’s where creatine phosphate comes in, it helps with the process of adding another phosphate – bond so we get ATP. Ok energy is a whole other subject so let me get back to creatine.
Ok so I am going to list some benefits and side effects of taking a creatine supplement, it is said to be the top performance supplement available. Some side effects could be, kidney and liver damage, kidney stones, dehydration, just to name a few, if you’re using a supplement make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. Some of the benefits, helps muscle produce more energy, supports many body functions, as you read above it improves high intensity exercise, may help fight neurological diseases, and a slew of other things it helps in your body.
So should you take a supplement, or can you get this through diet. That would be up to you, however if you are going to take a supplement the best form is creatine monohydrate, I do not recommend brands you will have to research that and make your own choice.
You can also get creatine through diet, some foods that are high in creatine are, herring is at the top of the list along with pork at #2, salmon, tuna cod are also good, beef, chicken, keep in mind creatine is naturally found in animal tissue.
I hope I’ve given you enough information to make you choice, good luck on your fitness experience.

Good morning and good day, man it's been a while since I've been around. Joe's Fitness & Nutrition has been on hold for a time as I have been on the mend, but am doing fine, I have been doing a lot of volunteer work with the senior community and run a senior fitness program at the park through the spring and summer months.
I turned 65 last November and just got to wondering what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, and well, I like to help people with their fitness goals. So, join me here, I will be posting some fitness and nutrition tid-bits.
Spread the word to your friends and follow me here.
Good day and good health.
JF&N
Just wanted to share this with everyone, I know it's been a long time since I've posted here but this was to good not to share. My friend at Evolve Fitness is offering a great program for seniors. Great training sessions making fitness fun.
Happy Sunday morning from JF&N
Good morning from JF&N, wishing you a great day on this first day of December.
So my move to Grand Junction is not going to happen anytime soon. I will keep you updated but I might take on a limited number of clients. I will still be at Evolve Fitness with Sharon.
Depends on who you ask!
It is with a heavy heart I write this post. I am looking to move back to Grand Junction to be closer to my daughter and grandkids so I will be closing Joe’s Fitness & Nutrition, I must cancel the women’s self-defense course on 7/9/22 as I will be moving out of the gym.
I would like to thank Sharon Marie/Evolve Fitness for the great opportunity she gave me in letting me share her gym, she is my good friend and mentor.
Joe
