2024 GHSA AAAA 3rd Place Finish 🥉

I (Coach K) want to first start off by thanking my assistant coaches (Chera Riles, Keshia Wilson, Bennett Wilson, Bradley Smith, and Kennedi Bedell) for all they did this year on and off the field to make this season special. I can’t thank them enough for their support and hard work. Coaching is not easy as most would agree, but no one truly understands unless you are a coach yourself. You’re away from your own kids and family for months to invest in someone else’s with usually little to no thank yous. There’s not another group I’d want to spend day in and day out with while doing this calling, especially as a first year head coach. Thank y’all again for your sacrifice and investment into this program.

While we didn’t finish the season how we wanted and the ball didn’t go our way, we still have so much to be proud of this season. We finished 32-4 on the year and broke multiple program records. We set a single season consecutive wins record (28), new single season homerun record (14), over 600 career strikeouts, had high increases in team batting average (.393), on base percentage (.487), stolen bases (110), and many other victories along the way. The most important victory, though, is knowing our worth as players and coaches is not determined by wins and losses. All of that is temporary. Softball is a platform for shaping future leaders and teaching many life lessons. Sometimes the most important ones are how to bounce back after disappointment.

We are also so proud of our senior class who left an incredible mark on Northside Softball. This group of seniors played in 3 state championship games finishing runner up as freshmen, winning it as sophomores and juniors, and finishing third as seniors. What an amazing career! One of the hardest parts of ending a season is knowing the exact team will never be the exact same as it changes year to year with new players coming in, senior players graduating out, or others pursuing new passions. Time together while we have it is so valuable and the bonds and memories created last far into the future!

This team received so many compliments all year long and were told they were so much fun to watch. They also are some of the best students in the school building! They receive compliments day in and day out from teachers about their hard work in the classroom, respectful attitudes, and doing the right thing. They have much to be proud of! We look forward to getting back to work with our fantastic returners and those who will enter the program in the future!

Go Pats!

Welcome Ann Marie to the team! We’ve had the pleasure of working with her as a student athlete in the past and are proud to officially have her on the team, training with our athletes 💪 *bio below*

“Hi, I’m Ann Marie! I graduated from Columbus High and am currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. During high school, I participated in various sports, including flag football, swimming, soccer, track and field, and wrestling management. I reached State in four of these sports, placing fifth in the 4x200m relay for track and field and captaining my flag football teams for three consecutive deep State runs.
I’m aiming to become a physical therapist specializing in motorsport athletes. I got into coaching to enhance my interpersonal skills, expand my knowledge of athlete development, and become proficient in strength and conditioning programming.”
